Stan’s claims it could end the spare tube and we indeed have a high success rate of sealing punctures, we may still carry one on our rides. At least for sentimental reasons.

Our volume recommendations:

Gravel: 60-90 ml for 35-50 mm
Mountain: 100-150 ml for 2.1-2.4 inch

After initial setup, it is also good practise to check after a week of riding if you can still hear some sealant sloshing in your tires by shaking it close to your ear. If you can’t hear anything, the sealant may have lined and “hydrated” the inside of your tire, especially when you have used a previously installed tire. That is perfectly fine, but to further have full puncture protection add about 50 % of the initial amount of sealant used. A dry or damp tubeless tire won’t seal any punctures.
